This is a leadership role that gives production associates direction in safety, quality, and productivity. This role facilitates and executes the production department’s action plans, as well as taking oversight of other functions as assigned. Implements corrective action plans that create long-term solutions to systemic problems. Supports operators to ensure the ongoing operation of the facility. Performs all tasks safely to ensure achievement of Quality, Service, and Cost objectives. Supports and develops standard operating procedures and requirements. Responsible for building associate capability and proficiency in operating and maintaining line equipment with the objective of instilling a sense of “machine ownership” in each associate. The Supervisor must be self-motivated, and comfortable in leading teams, maintaining a sense of urgency in “Making Success Routine” on the production floor, and building the case for CI initiatives focused on enhancing the stability and reliability of the production line.

Schedule: Monday-Friday from 5pm - 3:30am, with flexibility as needed

Salary, based on experience and other qualifications: $73k -$124k Annually with additional bonus potential

Essential Functions

  • Supervise daily production team

  • Responsible for setting schedules and approving employees time in the UKG Kronos system

  • Responsible for planning appropriate inventory levels to ensure production requirements and specifications are met to meet customer orders.

  • Ensure proper training of all employees regarding GMPs, Safety, Quality and other company procedures.

  • Responsible for collecting production data and identifying variances compared to standards.

  • Responsible for maintaining company Safety and OSHA standards.

  • Handles employee concerns and issues

  • Manage employee time and attendance in HR system and updates hours appropriately.

  • Promote Safety standards and record and investigate all safety incidents and near misses to help reduce future accidents.

  • Updates and communicates labor needs regularly

  • Provides and receives feedback to develop employees and future leaders.

  • All other duties as assigned by Management or volunteered for.

Basic Qualifications

  • Supervisory experience in a food manufacturing setting Preferred

  • 3-5 years’ experience in a lead or supervisory role

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent preferred but not required

  • Bilingual - English/Spanish preferred but not required

Competencies

  • Must have experience working with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).

  • Must have experience with quality and hygiene requirements common in food manufacturing.

  • Must have experience managing employees in a food production environment.

  • Must demonstrate strong management, leadership, organizational and scheduling ability.

  • Must have experience working in a production environment with USDA, food, and other FDA regulated products.

  • Must be able to work in a team environment and have a positive attitude.

  • Must have good written and oral communication skills

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; risk of electrical shock; and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. The work environment is cold (30 to 35 degree) on the manufacturing floor. The Production Supervisor will spend 90% of their time in the factory.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand for the duration of the production shift; talk or hear; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to walk. The employee is infrequently required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 40 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move more than 70 pounds.
