1. Application: (Pass/Fail) – All applicants must complete and submit online a City of Sacramento employment application by the final filing deadline of July 20, 2026 or upon the receipt of 250 applications; whichever occurs first.

Background Process & Medical Exam/Drug Test: If considered for appointment, candidates must complete and pass a background investigation, which includes but is not limited to, personal history, work history, reference checks, Live Scan/fingerprinting, and psychological test.
