Position: Material Handler I-Nights
Location: Elk Grove, IL
Wage: $20.44/hr + $2/hr shift differential
Shift: 5:45 PM - 6:15 AM; 12-hour continental shift 3 days one week, 4 days the following, off every other weekend. *Overtime may be required
While reporting to the Department Manager, you will be responsible for moving material throughout the plant/departments, in a quick and safe manner. Excellent attendance is crucial for the team to achieve success. You must have a proven record of success in a fast-paced environment. You must have the ability to work with fork-lifts, read work orders, etc. You will take pride in your personal hands-on and organizational skills and attention to detail.
What you will be doing:
Collaborating closely with other departments and teams
Having the ability to think on your feet and troubleshoot problems and situations
Fill orders from storage areas and warehouse stock and deliver to designated departments.
Operate power lift trucks to move/stack pallets.
Performing all duties as designated by supervisor/manager.
Performing all duties in support of Sonoco’s quality and safety policies.

Previous experience with fork trucks.
You have to have a “get it done” attitude and an urgency to resolve problems/tasks.
To succeed in this role, you will need good written and verbal communication skills
You will need to be able to lift up to 75lbs. as needed.

You will need to have the ability to read and understand manufacturing instructions.
You will need to have the ability to work quickly while maintaining a high level of attention to detail and most of all Safety.
